Installing Ubuntu Linux on my PC with Windows Vista was easier than I thought. The article in a forum described everything. Everything went as described there except for the installation CD. I initially burnt the ISO image on a writable CD. The CD did not work very well. It did not complete the CD check also. After that I read in some website that a DVD works better. So I burnt the ISO image on a DVD and everything installed smoothly afterwards. I had to turn off NumLock in the keyboard before the CD responded a little to the keyboard. I am not sure whether the same issue was there for DVD.
