Yesterday around 7.15 pm there was shooting near J.N. Tata auditorium in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Prof. M.C. Puri from IIT, Delhi was killed and Prof. Vijay Chandru, Dr Pankaj Gupta, Dr Sangeeta and Dr Vijay Patel are injured. I have taken classes of Dr. Vijay Chandru. This is very sad and shocking.
The news papers are reporting that the security was tight. But I don’t understand how such an incident is possible in that case. This auditorium and the institute main campus is divided by a high traffic road and I am not sure whether they had a good amount of security for the auditorium. This is a big auditorium with lots of facilities and throughout the year important events take place there. I have attended many lectures by eminent people all around the world and also conferences in that auditorium. It is also reported that Dr. Kasturirangan ISRO chairman attended this conference. The attack at such a place is very shocking.
Also it is ridiculous to read news papers reporting that Bangalore and IISc was on the hit list. If so what was the government doing about security. It does not seem to have any intelligence gathering at all.
IISc campus was very quite and secluded from all outside disturbances providing a very nice environment for research. Now the students and researchers might be afraid to join here. Also there are lots of visiting faculties from around the world to this campus. In the future they will be hesitant to come here.
I hope the injured recover soon and the police capture the criminals and prevent such incidents from occuring in the future.
Flashblock is really a very useful extension for firefox. It replaces the flash with a button. You can press the button to view the flash if needed. Now my browsing is a bit less frustrating since I see less animation on my screen.

ஆனால் கொஞ்சம் அதிக விலைக்கு லாபத்தோடு இதை மற்றவர்களுக்கு விற்றாலும் எல்லோரும் விரும்பி வாங்குவர் என்று தோன்றுகிறது.

கடின வட்டு இல்லாததால் 500 MB Flash Memory குறைவாக படுகிறது. அது அனேகமாக மாற்றக்கூடியதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். என்னுடைய காமிராவிற்கு மட்டும் நான் 512 MB வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
நல்ல முயற்சி. இன்னும் என்ன நிலையில் இருக்கிறது என்று தெரியவில்லை.
I tend to sleep late into the morning. But if there is an appointment early morning I will somehow manage to wakeup and will go on time. But in a very important chess tournament which is, Russian Championship Super final one of the GMs Alexander Morozevich overslept and missed the game. His opponent won by forfeit. Too bad.
Morezevich is one of my favorite players. He does not hesitate to try something new. He makes the games exciting. He ranks 17th in the world.

காலையில் எழுந்து வேலைக்கு கிளம்பி வெளியில் வந்து பார்த்தால் எங்கும் வெள்ளை. என்னுடைய காருக்கு பக்கத்தில் எதிர்த்த வீட்டு பாட்டி சுறுசுறுப்பாக தன்னுடைய காரை சுத்தம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். காரை கிளப்பி விட்டு நானும் சுத்தம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தேன். நடுவே பாட்டி சுகம் விசாரித்து விட்டு இது தான் முதல் பனியா என்று கேட்டார். நான் இல்லை ஏற்கனவே நிறைய அனுபவித்தாயிற்று என்றதும் Isn’t it nice என்றார். இந்த வயதில் கஷ்டப்பட்டு பனியை சுத்தம் செய்து விட்டு இன்னும் அதை ரசிப்பது ஆச்சரியமாக இருந்தது.
அப்புறம் அலுவலகம் சென்று விட்டு வேறு அலவல் காரணமாக வெளியில் செல்ல வந்தது. போன இடத்தில் வேலை முடிந்ததும் கிளம்பும் போது கிட்டத்தட்ட அரை அடிக்குமேல் பனி பெய்துவிட்டது. அந்த இடத்தில் பனியை இன்னும் சுத்தம் செய்திருக்கவில்லை. அங்கிருத்து காரில் வெளியில் வருவதற்கு இரண்டு வழிகள் இருந்தன. நான் தூரம் குறைந்த வழியில் செல்லலாம் என்று பின்னால் வந்தால் கார் ஒரு சுற்று சுற்றி எதிர்ப்பக்கம் பார்த்து நின்றது.
சரி கார் போன வழி என்று அந்தப் பக்கமே போகலாம் என்றால் அங்கே கொஞ்ச தூரம் போனதும் பார்த்தால் பனியில் சிக்கி ஏற்கனவே ஒரு பெரிய வேன் உற்பட நான்கு கார்கள் நின்றிருந்தன. நானும் கொஞ்ச நேரம் முன்னால் ஏற்கனவே இருந்த டயர் தடத்தில் போய் பின்னால் நின்றேன். பக்கத்தில் இருந்த வேன் ஓட்டுனர் பெரிய பனி அள்ளும் தட்டை வைத்து வேனைச் சுற்றி சுத்தம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்.
நான் இங்கே வழியை விட்டு விலகி பார்க் மட்டும் தான் செய்யப் போகிறேன். அதற்கப்புறம் உனக்கு உதவி செய்கிறேன் என்றார். கொஞ்சம் சுத்தம் செய்து விட்டு லேசாக வேனை திருப்பி நிறுத்த முயன்றார். வேன் நின்ற இடத்திலேயே சுற்றியது. இது அவ்வளவு தான் என்று கூறி விட்டு, வந்து என்னுடைய காரின் முன்னால் சுத்தம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தார். சிறிது செய்து விட்டு கொஞ்சம் கிளம்பினாலும் அதே வேகத்தில் போய் விடலாம் என்று நினைத்து கிளம்பினால் மீண்டும் பத்தடி தூரத்தில் போய் சிக்கிக் கொண்டது.
இதே நேரத்தில் பக்கத்தில் வசிப்பவர்கள் இரண்டு பேர் வந்து முன்னால் நின்ற மூன்று கார்களை தள்ளிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். ஒரு சில அடிகள் அவை முன்னால் போயிருக்கும் அந்த வழியாக ஒரு பனி சுத்தம் செய்யும் புல்டோசர் மாதிரி இயந்திரம் வந்து ஒரு தடவை வழித்து விட்டு ஒரு பாதை உண்டாக்கி விட்டுப் போனது.
இப்போது முன்னால் இருந்த காரை அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றாக அந்த பாதையில் தள்ளி விட்டு அனுப்பி விட்டார்கள். அப்புறம் வந்து என்னுடைய காரையும் அந்த பாதையில் தள்ளி விட்டார்கள். யார் அந்த புண்ணியவான்களோ தெரியாது.
அப்புறம் நான் நிறுத்தாமல் முன்னால் சென்றால் மெயின் ரோட்டில் சேரும் இடத்தில் மூன்றாவதாக முன்னால் சென்ற கார் பனியில் சிக்கி நின்றிருந்தது. நான் முன் ஜாக்கிரதையாக வேகம் எடுப்பதற்காக கொஞ்சம் தூரத்திலேயே நிறுத்தி விட்டு இறங்கி அந்த காரிடம் சென்றேன்.
காரில் இருந்த பெண்ணிடம் நான் காரை பின்னால் தள்ளுகிறேன் நீங்கள் முதலில் Reverse எடுங்கள் என்று பின்னால் தள்ளி விட்டு அப்புறம் கொஞ்சம் இடம் கிடைத்ததும் மீண்டும் முன்னால் வேகமாக போகச்சொன்னேன். இதற்குள் என் காருக்கு பின்னால் ஒரு லைன் ஆரம்பித்திருந்தது. அதிலிருந்த இறங்கி வந்து இன்னொருவரும் என்னுடன் தள்ளினார். கடைசியில் ஓரளவு சுத்தமாக இருந்த ரோட்டில் சேர்ந்து அந்த பெண் போய் விட்டார்.
பின்னால் இருந்த காரில் இருந்து இறங்கி வந்தவர் These women drivers என்று சொல்லி விட்டுப் போனார்.
காலையில் பாட்டி சொன்ன Isn’t it nice தான் ஞாபகத்திற்கு வந்தது.
